Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I read to my daughters most nights of the week before bed. We’ve read a lot of different kinds of books such as The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, the Wingfeather Saga, The Chronicles of Narnia, and more. for many years now we have been working slowly through the Harry Potter Series. I don’t love them, I don’t dislike them… they’re a bit long, but my kids enjoy them.

This book felt especially draggy the first half of it. But the second half was enjoyable and interesting. It follows the same predictable pattern of the previous four books: Harry is miserable before school starts, the school year progresses, things get weird, Harry does bad things, Harry and Dumbledore confront Voldemort, the school year ends.

3 stars.

Book #4 for 2019
